Consulting: Vladimir Dergachev
I enjoy a challenge and delight in working on science-intensive projects.
Consulting is way for me to participate in projects too complicated for casual advice and/or requiring commitment to a particular deadline.
My expertise includes the following areas:
- Mathematics:
- I have a very strong background in all facets of mathematics.
- I received Ph.D. (2000) from University of Pennsylvania for work in functional analysis
and algebra.
- My interests include algebra, functional analysis,
statistics and stochastic processes.
- Physics:
- I have joined the Ph.D. program at the University of Michigan Physics deparment in September 2003.
- I currently work in experimental physics on an effort to detect gravitational waves as part of LIGO collaboration.
- Computer science:
- I have always held true that technical expertise should be
matter of course for any sentient being.
- I have wide experience with both
software and hardware aspects of using computers.
- I have worked with low-level
code (down to machine language and verilog) and with high-level scripting
languages.
- I wrote efficient programs that shared 99.9% code between Windows and
Unix versions.
- I was awarded MA in Computer Science by University of
Pennsylvania in 1997.
- I maintain several Open Source projects (most notably
GATOS
and Ps-i).
- My interests
include computer languages and separation of work between computers and humans.
